Respite care provides individuals who are caring for their loved one, or individuals caring for themselves and require short-term care, with a safe and affordable option of assisted care for a maximum of 60 days. Individuals accessing this service must be mobile and self-directing of their own care. Use of a cane, walker or wheelchair is permitted as long as the resident is able to transfer from the wheelchair to bed, chair, toilet, etc.
